Road Closures and Road Works surrounding The Stadium

Please see information below from Kirklees Highways in relation to road closures and road works surrounding the Stadium over the next few weeks.  These roadworks/closures will affect Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants supporters, as well as some travelling away supporters.

• Fans travelling from the South using the M1 will usually travel through Flockton on the A637 which is CLOSED in both directions. For 4 weeks starting today. 

There are also 7.5 ton weight limits in place on surrounding roads with vehicles over that weight (including coaches) using an HGV diversion route.

• Highways England are also doing major work at M62 Junction 27 where the M62 Westbound off slip road to the roundabout by IKEA is reduced to one lane and the motorway between j28 and j27 is also reduced by a lane. This is creating delays and makes worse any incident in the area.

With the roads being quite during the summer holidays  we all take the opportunity to undertake roadworks when traffic volumes are lower/outside schools etc.

www.roadworks.org is useful for any other road closures. It should have all planned roadworks but there will be emergency works that take a day or so to get on. Eg.

YW are experiencing a high volume of bursting pipes at present with the dry weather so emergency closures can happen at no notice anywhere.
