Whilst your typical client meeting or team update might involve a more traditional set-up, some situations call for the upmarket dining experience one usually finds at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Here at The John Smith’s Stadium we have recently launched our fantastic fine dining experience set in our recently refurbished Boardroom. In the suite, diners are surrounded by over 100 years of sporting memorabilia from both Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants, offering guests a more unique and engaging experience, whilst also providing an up-scale and more intimate setting. To make the day even more special diners will be able to add on extras such as a Stadium tour, introductions from the Chef and use of the Suites audio visual facilities.
Overseeing the dining we have our fantastic award winning Head Chef, Dave Stewart-Pybus, who along with the rest of the catering team works very closely with our guests to help them design their perfect event, offering all guests the choice of either a bespoke menu designed to taste or a choice from our existing a la carte menu.
We have recently hosted a number of Stadium Partner luncheons including: Chadwick Lawrence, P2 Technologies, Distinct and Marshalls Direct with a number of others still in the pipeline.
Gareth Davies, Managing Director, KSDL “Fine Dining Experience is our opportunity at The John Smith’s Stadium to do two things. Firstly it’s another platform for networking with lots of different networking events here at The Stadium and its new innovation in that direction. Secondly, it’s our opportunity to show off a little bit, with a fantastic head chef who can produce truly wonderful food and it’s the very best of what we do dining wise”.
Gavin Howarth, Howarth’s People and Safety Management “I really enjoyed the Fine Dining Experience, it was a brilliant event. I met a couple of new people I had not met before and the food was fantastic so it was a really good event”.
Martin Page, Director, P2 Technologies: “We have just recently hosted our second Fine Dining event at the Stadium and cannot fault the experience that we had. The food was fantastic and the service received from the team from the initial booking to the set up on the day was second to none. These events allow us to build close connections with our customers and contacts in an intimate and relaxed setting that feels truly special.”
Neil Wilson, Manging Partner, Chadwick Lawrence: “Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors used this facility last week. It was first class and we thoroughly recommend it”.
Tracey Hopkins, Finance and Operations Director from Howarths said “The event was fantastic and really had the wow factor. Our clients thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the feedback has been wonderful. The food was absolutely divine and plentiful. We will definitely be doing it again.”
Richard Thewlis, Managing Director, Huddersfield Giants: “Firstly the room is spectacularly set up and immaculately presented with interesting sporting memorabilia on display alongside the two presentation screens. The décor is as you’d expect of such a venue. Our starters were presented on oblong plates and the colourful puree offset nicely the melba toast and thick earthy pate. The main to follow was beautifully presented turkey wrapped in bacon and the usual season vegetables. The star of the show was the jus though which brought everything together in balance and it was great to have extra servings brought round by the staff. We rounded off with dessert – some had Christmas Pudding – whilst I opted for the pousset which was a creamy delight. All in all topped off with good wine and company a great few hours was had by all!”
Kate Betts, Director, Capital B Media said: “My idea of food at a football ground (or *** sports stadium*** if you prefer) is a packet of crisps and maybe a pie. The fine dining experience at John Smith Stadium is about as far away from that as you can get! The tastes were divine, the presentation perfect and the overall experience something you would expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. In fact the meal was so good – it surpassed a meal I’d had at a well-known prestigious national chain a few days earlier. Not only was the food exquisite, but the fact that I have to stick to a strict gluten-free diet was absolutely no hassle to the chef. Overall definitely one of the best meals I have had in a long time.”
