Hosting a charity ball can be a rewarding and fun way to bring people together to raise money for a charity you hold close to your heart. At The John Smith’s Stadium we can offer great space, setup, technology, food, staffing, and lots more to help you host what will be an unforgettable event.

Below is a set of handy tips to help you to organise your Charity ball before, during and after the event!


  • Themes and Ideas – pick your theme, music, competitions, and any other options you may be able to arrange to attract people to attend, such as a charity auction.
  • Timings – Pick your event date carefully so as not to clash with any major sports or cultural events!
  • Your Network – make the most of the community around you, sell tickets through your family, friends, and colleagues. Think of your business networks especially, such as larger businesses who may want to buy a table to fill.
  • BudgetingA crucial component to make sure you cover all costs and the unexpected! To ensure guests have a great night but you also raise as much as possible for your chosen charity

On the Night

  • Fundraising – Ensure your evening is jam packed with ways to raise money, such as a silent auction or raffle with amazing prizes!
  • Inspire – Take a moment to discuss or arrange a speaker to talk about your chosen charity so people understand the difference their support of the cause makes.
  • Network – Charity balls are a great opportunity to network and meet other like-minded individuals. It’s also worth making those valuable contacts so you can work with them for future charity fundraising events
  • Pose! – Remember those all-important images to share and promote your event– hiring a professional photographer will help with this so you can concentrate on the hosting.

After the Event

  • Accounts – Count, check, record and send your chosen charity funds raised as soon as you can. It’s a good idea to share responsibility for this amongst more than one person.
  • Thank You’s – remember to send a thank you to guests, sponsors, and volunteers and let them know how much they help raised for a special charity, along with sharing any photos

It’s been a wait! but The John Smith’s Stadium will once again be venue host to the 6th Annual Howarth’s Music Extravaganza on Friday 26th November 2021. The line-up is fantastic with amazing live music, delicious food, and a night full of fun and laughter!

What is the Howarths Music Extravaganza?

The Howarths Music Extravaganza is a jam-packed Charity evening with two-course meal, live music, Close up Magic, Silent Auction, and a Big Balloon pop. There are some amazing prizes up for grabs! with all money raised from the event going towards vital funds for Howarths own charity “The Howarth Foundation”.

The charity works hard to offer support and guidance to individuals who are, or who have recently been, homeless, and aims to find every individual employment in the districts of Leeds and Kirklees, through its initiative “Street 2 Feet”.

The Howarths Music Extravaganza is in its 6th year and has proved a very popular event, with the funds raised making a huge difference to the charity.
