FRIENDS OF FORGET ME NOT

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice cares for children with life limited/life threatening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire. It is there for families from as early as pregnancy onwards offering respite, hydrotherapy, music therapy, counselling or bereavement support. This can either be with the ‘hospice at home’ service or at Russell House.

£4m every year must be raised to cover costs with less than 4% coming from government funding so the charity depend on the local community to help with the fundraising.

In 2013, on the retirement of Gina Fielding, a fundraiser at Forget Me Not, and Brenda Astin, a Trustee, Friends of Forget Me Not was formed as they both realised how important it was to help. A group of ladies soon joined them and a calendar of events was established.  These include balls, golf days, afternoon teas, walks, dining with a difference and a fashion show.

Friends of Forget Me Not have raised over £240,000 with the support of their friends and the community.  This has helped furnish the snowflake suite and family rooms, reflexology room, also to sponsor a specialist nurse and a music therapist as well as the general day to day running of the hospice.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice say ‘yes’ to their children and families, making a little bit of magic happen for them.  Help us help them to make this magic happen by supporting our events.
