Huddersfield will be the place to be on the fourth of July when the stars of England and the Exiles look to earn their stripes in the second game of the International Origin Series at Galpharm Stadium. The re-match between England’s elite players and the best overseas stars from the Stobart Super League will kick off at 7.45 pm on Wednesday July 4 and fans are urged to move quickly to secure their seat for one of the highlights of the representative calendar.
England and the Exiles do battle in the opening game of the International Origin Series at Langtree Park, St Helens, on Saturday June 16 and with pride and glory up for grabs, a memorable contest is guaranteed.
“It’s great that representative action is returning to the Galpharm Stadium, it’s a fantastic facility and I’m sure it will help bring out the best in all the players involved,” said England coach Steve McNamara.
“There’s a real appetite to be involved in the International Origin Series from every player in Super League and with two fixtures to play I think we will see the intensity reach new heights this summer.”
The Exiles will be coached by Daniel Anderson, the former St Helens, New Zealand Warriors and Parramatta Eels coach who is returning from Australia to take charge of the cream Super League’s overseas talent.
“Many of our players have strong memories of matches at the Galpharm Stadium and it’s fantastic news that we’ll be following up the opening match at Langtree Park with the second fixture at another outstanding venue,” said Anderson.
Stadium Managing Director, Gareth Davies said “We are delighted to be able to confirm that we are hosting this game. It is always our intention to host major events whenever possible and it’s a great pleasure to be talking about the return of International Rugby League to The Galpharm Stadium.”
