On Friday 1st March, The John Smith’s Stadium officially unveiled its new look Revell Ward Suite plus additional hospitality areas which have recently undergone major refurbishments.
The refurbishment of the Revell Ward Suite is the latest stage of continued development work at Huddersfield’s community stadium. The current work has seen a complete overhaul of the suite’s conference and banqueting facilities, cementing it as one of Yorkshire’s premier conference and events venues.
As part of its ongoing drive and commitment in developing the conference and banqueting facilities the stadium invited stadium partners and clients to its open evening to view the suite and other areas in all their glory. Providing guests with the opportunity to see how flexible the spaces are and meet the team behind the refurbishment.
Work spanned the entire Direct Golf Stand; from the ground floor up to the Revell Ward suite on the second floor and has included; new carpets being laid throughout, replacement of ceilings, painting and re-wallpapering of walls, and new furniture including the installation of a modern blind system in the Revell Ward Suite. As Huddersfield’s community stadium, local contractors have been used where possible to promote and support business growth within Kirklees.
KSDL employed interior designer Karen Brierley to manage the refurbishment. Karen commented; “The project began with a consultation meeting with Managing Director, Gareth Davies to discuss the brief. We wanted to focus on replacing the existing branded colour scheme with a more generic scheme that would better suit the broad range of events which are hosted in the Revell Ward hospitality suite.
“During initial discussions and planning, durability was of the utmost importance. The refurbishment started with the design of a contemporary, bespoke patterned carpet which would complement the new teal, bronze, and cream colour scheme of the new fabrics, wallpapers and sheers. This classic colour combination was selected to create a warm and inviting environment which is fashionable but will also provide longevity for the design.”
Managing Director of KSDL, Gareth Davis said: “The refurbishment of the Direct Golf Stand is just the latest stage of continued investment in the community stadium. Working with designer Karen Brierley and local contractors we have created a high spec finish. The open evening was a great success and allowed us to showcase the stadium’s premier conference and event facilities. The refurbishment is just the beginning of future plans for the stadium.”
