Kirkwood Hospice has officially launched it’s 2013 Memory Walk.
The walk is a wonderful event with a unique atmosphere. It brings together walkers from across the region, the country and even from abroad, all walking with a common cause – to remember their loved ones and raise much needed funds for the Hospice. From the camaraderie of the walkers new friendships are formed, experiences are shared and much laughter, tears and words of encouragement ring out. At the end of the walk the huge sense of achievement makes it a truly memorable night.
The 10 mile circular road walk starts and finishes at the John Smith’s Stadium and on the night there will once again be the option to cut off part of the route and walk a shorter distance of 6 miles. The route is fully marshalled and there is first aid cover throughout the night.
There is a full entertainment programme at the Stadium from 10:30pm in the build up to the start of the walk at midnight. On receipt of the completed registration form, every walker will receive a pack which includes a T-shirt and sponsor form. At the end of the walk everyone will receive a commemorative medal and a well-earned bacon butty!
