John Smith’s Strengthens Relationship With Huddersfield

Following on from the recent Stadium Naming deal, HEINEKEN, the UK’s leading beer and cider business has strengthened its relationship with Huddersfield by sponsoring this year’s annual Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival as The John Smith’s Stadium.

Now one of the largest free food festivals in the North, Huddersfield’s Food and Drink Festival runs from 8th to 11th August and last year attracted almost 150,000 visitors.

Gareth Davies, Managing Director at Kirklees Stadium Development Ltd (KSDL) commented: “We’re delighted to partner with the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival. The festival is a celebration of regional flavours, with the very best tastes of Yorkshire on display by local chefs, brewers and producers. The Stadium has been part of Huddersfield’s community for almost 20 years and we wanted to show support for this prestigious event. Events like the Festival help to put Huddersfield firmly on the map as a key destination in Yorkshire.”

Paul Scott, Chairman of Huddersfield Town Centre Partnership Ltd (HTCPL) who organises the event, said: “We are really pleased to have a local, high profile business sponsor this year’s Festival.  The support that we have already received from the Stadium and the work that we will be able to do together for Huddersfield has already proved beneficial. We look forward to working with the John Smith’s Stadium in the months leading up to the Food and Drink Festival. To celebrate our partnership, we have launched an addition to our logo which clearly demonstrates our commitment and close working relationship with the Stadium.”

The four day event will feature more than 70 food and drink stallholders, an hourly programme of free cookery demonstrations by local chefs and producers, free children’s workshops and entertainment as well as two late night music events and a vintage fair in the Byram Arcade.
